A large spider with only 7 legs spins webbing
Large spiders like this look so much like crabs when extreme close-upĀ photos are taken that I often wonder if I can eat crab legs ever again.

Not sure what kind of insect this is, but its furry body and moth-like wings seem to indicate it isn’t a form of fly or a member of any of the wasp-like or beetle families.

This spider was immense… the body alone was the size of the top segment of my thumb. It was dragging a butterfly it had captured behind it back to its lair. My hands were actually shaking while taking this picture, as I am quite arachnophobic.

Perched on the remnants of a Queen Anne’s Lace plant, this smallish dragonfly seemed to want to pose for me. It flew away and returned at least 4 times.
