A red-tailed hawk surveys its surroundings, overlooking a park in Belleville, Ontario.

We went to a nearby city to do a little research and get some pictures of a jet display (pictures for another day)… while heading to the park with the jet, my wife spotted this hawk not far from the side of the road in an area where I could get lined up and take some pics. This image was fast-processed and is unchanged from how it came out of the camera, although I may fine-tune it later, because I needed a picture for today and I wanted it to be this one. It has now superceded the previous shot of the marsh hawk as my best photo of a bird of prey. Oh, wait, I almost forgot my osprey shots…
