A finch who visited our yard unexpectedly

I’d never seen one of these birds up close. I also have not seen one since the day I took this photo. I believe it is a purple finch, although it could be a house finch as both have similar colouration. I’m a bit disappointed that this shot was not sharper, and it is the best of a dozen. I hope I get another chance.
