Maw
The bristly hairiness and pointed tips of the petals reminded me of some kind of serpent or dragon mouth, or maybe an insect ’s chewing parts.

Row of Hearts
My grandmother had some of these in her garden, and I always loved them. I was so disappointed when I got old enough to have my own garden and found out that they bloom for such a small part of the year.
