Semi-macro closeup of tree bud, shot using 20mm extension tube (or was it 36? Ack!) The tiny droplet of resin was interesting, I wish I’d had better light available.

That bud is about the length of your thumbnail, by the way.

One of my wife's favourite flowers, some wild daisies

She likes to call them Ditch Daisies – they grow all around us along the shoulders of the road. She digs them up and brings them home for the garden, sometimes.

The seed head of a dandelion, backlit by the sun

Dandelions are like sunsets, always so cliche, always so overdone… but this looked almost like fireworks. I was shooting toward the sun so some interesting rainbow/colour effects came out.

A poor, dead pine tree planted next door.

Sadly, this little Scotch Pine tree didn’t make it, but then again, if it kept growing where it was located it probably would have pissed me off in a couple of years (or ten) as it would have been right on top of the fence at the side of our yard. You know, the one that isn’t build yet.

A smaller butterfly at the Niagara Falls Conservatory

This butterfly was smaller than most of the others with similar colouration. It was nice to catch one in isolation like this, as at times it can be quite chaotic inside the Butterfly Conservatory.
