<p>Large spiders like this look so much like crabs when extreme close-up  photos are taken that I often wonder if I can eat crab legs ever again.</p>

<p>I seem to have some kind of weird talent for finding horny bugs. Perhaps it is my only superpower. <p>I don&#8217;t know if you can see it well in the thumbnail size, so full screen is likely a must &#8211; this spider was spinning a web while I watched. You can see it holding web at the bottom with its left front legs, and guiding a fine thread from its spinnerets on its rear with a rear leg while a loose piece of web is being pulled into place by legs on the right side. It was very windy, which was frustrating both the spider and me.</p>

<p>Not absolutely sure of this species &#8211; they could be &#8220;sugar maple borers&#8221;.
